Gorgeous Wildlife in Sri Lanka

Peace Corps Volunteer: Oct. 1992 to Dec. 1994

After a 3 month intensive training in Kandy, I was assigned to Niyagama Business College to teach Business English. This was in the low country tea area. I lived with a family. The students went on strike, so I was reassigned to the University of Ruhuna Faculty of Agriculture in the south. I lived in the Bachelors Quarters along with other professors. I was there 1 1/2 years. The staff were very welcoming and I really enjoyed life here. Professor Nawaratne and Mrs. Subasinghe were my counterparts, English students and good friends.
I also taught patchwork to women in a nearby village.
